We are excited that you are investigating Heartland for your child’s education. We are here to help you through this process and encourage you to call the school with any questions as you work through this list of requirements. 

REQUIREMENTS

The following must be completed before the registration process is complete and a student is placed on a class roll.

1. Submit the online inquiry form: Contact Sarah Drokin 

2. Heartland will review the inquiry form and contact you to schedule a school tour

3. HCS requests standardized testing and any IEPs or service plans from the family.

4. HCS reviews the entire application, including anything the family submits and the references.

5. Based on step 4, HCS schedules an admission interview with the principal, parents, and student.

6. HCS emails the admissions decision to the parents.

7. Parents submit the enrollment contract (online) and pay the registration fee of $400. CONGRATULATIONS! You are a Lion.

8. After enrolling, the family applies for the Ohio EdChoice scholarship.

REQUIREMENTS

Beginning February 1, 2025, parents will log into their FACTS Family Web account. Once logged in, the parent will choose the apply/enroll tab to begin the process. 

• The $250/student continuous enrollment fee is due by April 1, 2025. 

NOTE - If a family has an outstanding balance on February 1, they cannot start the re-enrollment process until the balance is paid in full. If there is still a balance on April 1, the student cannot enroll at Heartland for the 2025/2026 school year.

FEES

• Kindergarten & New Student Registration Fee: $400 per student is due at registration.
• Continuous (For current students) Enrollment Fee: $250 per student is due by April 1 each year. 
• Yearly Operations Fee: $500 per student ($1500 max per family) – NEW 
• NOTE: The Operations Fee will be rolled into the 10-month payment schedule.
• Other potential fees (Sports, Band, Field Trips, Mini Term)

TUITION RATES 

Grade K-8: $6,166

Grades 9-12: $8,408

10-MONTH PAYMENT SCHEDULE 

Payments (Operations fee of $50 per month or tuition balance) are made over ten months. The first payment is due August 15th, and the last payment is due by May 15th. If the monthly tuition/fee payments become 90 days overdue, this could jeopardize your student’s enrollment at HCS. All guardians are expected to remain current on their tuition/fee payments. Guardians who withdraw their children will pay the remaining tuition and any penalties immediately.

HOW YOUR INVESTMENT SUPPORTS OUR MISSION

Tuition - covers the expenses for academics and spiritual training for your child, including faculty and staff salaries, professional development, educational programs, and classroom materials.

Operations Fee - helps maintain facilities, utilities, technology, and other aspects of our school's infrastructure.

1. The Edchoice Scholarship. 

• Everyone is eligible for a partial & up to a full Scholarship for tuition.
• Up to $6166 for K-8
• Up to $8408 for 9-12
• Almost 95% of our families currently qualify for the full Edchoice scholarship, covering all Heartlands' tuition.

2. Ohio’s Scholarship Grant Organization (SGO). 

• This is a new opportunity for our families.
• Families can apply and may qualify for a scholarship through the SGO, which they can use to pay the operations fee or tuition. These scholarships are prioritized based on financial need, and there are limited funds, so apply early.
• There is a maximum amount of $500 per student.

Heartland offers bus transportation to and from group stops currently in the Salem, Austintown, Boardman areas.  The fee is $425 per child divided over 10 months.  Local school districts are required by the state to either bus your child or reimburse your family the expense if Heartland is within 30 minutes of your district.  It is your responsibility to contact your district to add your name on the list before the school year starts.  This refund is currently $500 per student given at the end of the school year.  We encourage you to call and not miss out on reimbursement.
